Matt Mulcahey joins the Tigers

Many thanks to our Sponsors

We have been exceptionally fortunate to be supported by a number of companies and organisations in a variety of ways.  The bottom line is that every effort made by a sponsor either creates revenue or reduces cost and is a major reason why we dont have to keep calling on members to chip in to cater for the spiralling costs of cricket.  On behalf of all members I pass on our gratitude and thanks to all of our sponsors and hope to see you backing the Tiger next season.

In a major recruiting coup  Upwey Tecoma C.C has secured the services of the Richmond C.C Captain Matt Mulcahey for the coming season.  After many years of success playing District 1st XI cricket Matty has decided to move closer to home.

Matt is a brilliant wicketkeeper and an accomplished batsman and has a wealth of cricket knowledge.  Matt is only in his late 20's but brings 10 years of experience from one of the worlds toughest domestic competitions to the club.

Matt will be taking on the role as assistant coach to Paul Wilson and will be focussing on providing some one on one coaching to players throughout the season.

The club is delighted and thrilled that Matt has joined us and we look forward to making him and his wife welcome in the 2009/2010 season.

AGM run and done......

The club held it's AGM last Wednesday 13th May and although there wasnt a huge turnout the night was a success with all committee positions filled and some excellent discussions and debate about what the club should be aiming to achieve in the next few years.

We would like to take this opportunity to pass on our thanks to Janette and John Stanley who stood down from the committee.  Janette worked tirelessly as our co-treasurer and produced a brilliant set of books as well as overseeing our financial position with great authority and success.  John of course had a remarkable year as our Junior Co-ordinator and has set an extremely high benchmark for those following in his footsteps.

The committee roles and new incumbents can be found on the contacts page.

MILO Coordinator Required

For the first time in many years Plugger wont be our MILO Coordinator/Coach.  His young fella played in U/11 last season and he still took on the role for a much smaller squad of MILO players.

This season we are looking for someone or a group of people to take on the role of running our MILO program.  This role only requires 1 hour per week and is a fun and easy to do role.  The club will provide as much support as required including Plugger happily handing over the role over a few weeks to make it even easier.

All the paperwork and administration is done by the club, so all we need are some people to organise a bunch of keen young cricketers on a Friday night or Sunday morning for an hour.

If you are keen to find out more (no obligation) just call Colin on 0407870077.

Lead Junior Coach

We are considering a new role in the club this year that solely focusses on the development of the juniors and assist the junior coaches.  Basically this role would help each of the team coaches devise training plans methods throughout the season, monitor the progress of the teams and identify where the club can best use its resources to further develop our younger players.  This is not an administration role at all, this is a cricket role where the person can mentor our coaches, provide some hands on coaching where possible and ensure that we are all heading in the same direction in the playing side.

This role will also have a great influce on the transition of juniors to seniors at both training and match levels, helping the boys prepare for the jump into senior cricket.

If anyone is interested in this role, please give Colin a call on 0407870077 (no obligation)
