The Upwey Tecoma Cricket Club is affiliated in the Ferntree Gully District Cricket Association and fields teams in senior and junior grades. New members are always welcome The Upwey Tecoma Cricket Club is a community club with close ties to the football club as well as the communities in Upwey and Tecoma. We are a level 3 good sports club and confidently state that we are a great family club in both the on-field and off field areas. Our junior coaches and coaching programmes are the finest around. Our facilities are outstanding which includes a new $50,000 net facility and of course club rooms that are the envy of clubs across all competitions. We love our cricket and we love the environment we have created for all of our club members to enjoy.
Join us on Premiership Edition Ok the celebrations are over although the memories are still clear and fond but it is now time to turn our attention to the next season. In the meantime we will leave our premiership tribute up though We are thrilled to advise that Sam Taylor has won back to back FTGDCA Feaver Medals in 2011/2012. The Feaver medal is the association best and fairest awards as voted by the umpires. Winning a Feaver medal is a great achievement but winning back to back medals is an amazing achievement. On behalf of all the club congratulations to Sam.
Congratulations to Sam Taylor - Feaver Medalist 2011/2012 FTGDCA Team of the Year We are also thrilled to advise that Sam Taylor, Matt Mulcahy and Leigh Bianchi were all named in the FTGDCA team of the year. This is a great achievement for the club and particular congratulations to Leigh Bianchi who is getting better and better each year and is now ranked up there with the best bowlers in the association.
We will be holding our annual general meeting on Monday 4th June at 7.30pm at the clubrooms. This is an ideal opportunity to get an insight as to how the club is planning to manage the coming 12 months as well as an ideal time to give us your feedback on what you would like to see happen at the club. Yes we can always do with additional help but no we will not coerce you into taking on a committee position. So please take an hour out of your time and help us launch the coming season. Junior Working Party Immediately following the AGM we will be looking to form a "Working Party" to get together and plan out our juniors for the coming season. Plugger has some big plans but he needs some assistance and will be asking both junior parents and senior players to get involved. Some of the things we would like people to get involved in are:
Recruiting
- how we get messages and posters out to the schools and shops of the area |
