The Cat empties the Basin, Magoos do it easy, 3rds have miracle win and U/13 notch up season first win.

Saturday almost produced the perfect result day for our historic even naming the team of the last 25 years.  Both the U/13 and U/17 teams had comfortable wins.  The U/13 team finally got their first win of the season and had four players retire not out.  Ben Tohill had a stunning match taking 3 wickets and making 32 retired batting at number 3.  The normal tail of Nick Smith and Sam Vance both used their recent training advice and posted their best scores with both retiring in the 30's and of course Liam Dunning notched up another not out opening the batting to add to his 2 wickets. The U/17 boys saw Chris Brown snag 3 wickets in their win against FTG following on from Jake Evans century last week.  The U/12 ended up having a good match against Bayswater with Jay Williams and Liam Dunning retiring in their 30's and a couple of the smaller boys in the squad getting some good time at the crease.

The 1st XI were defending 313 and took Basin apart getting them out for 93.  Leigh Bianchi continued on his brilliant post Xmas form and picked up 6 wickets.  Matty put Basin back in and had them another 3 wickets down before both skippers agreed to pull up stumps.  The 2nds were defending 280 and also won comfortably with Dicky Lizza picking up a handful of wickets after Brenton Hurst and Paul McCarrick posted some big runs last week.  The 3rd XI had an amazing win defending just over 160 on the cabbage patch they had whittled away at Mt Gate until it got to the point where Mt Gate need 1 run to draw, 2 runs to win and we need 3 wickets - we got the 3 wickets and a very excited 3rd XI celebrated an amazing win that Captain David Booth described as up their with his senior premiership wins.  The 4th XI went within 2 wickets of giving the club a clean sweep but there were some good signs that a win is not far away.
